Okay so I have to do this blogging challenge… And I’m supposed to write about something I have done that I’m very proud of! One thing I’m very proud of is that my 4×400 relay team got our school record this year!!

Our relay team ran the 4×400 in 4:27.6! For those of you who don’t know what a 4×400 is it’s a relay with 4 people in it. Each person runs 400 meters (which is once around the track!) We got the record this year so now it is on the 8th grade record sheet at our school! I’m very proud of this because we didn’t really have that much practice doing it together. It was the first time we had all ran it together this year and we broke the record! We got first place at the meet and then we got an award at the end of the track season saying that we broke the record!

Now I’m supposed to tag some people to do this too…

Today I had to blog the blogging challenge game for challenge and here is what I found!

The first blog I went to was Willy’s!
This blog had a lot of cool stuff to read about. I commented on one of his post about how he had to do this blogging challenge too!(:

Then I went to Jordan’s Blog.
This blog had a really good post about pysanky. Which are Ukrainian Easter eggs. It tells about all the symbols and I thought it was very interesting!

The next blog was Alex’s.
This blog was great too. I commented on a post about him. He plays soccer and basketball. And I love basketball!!

Andrew’s blog was next one I went on.
Andrew’s had some really awesome things on his blog too. I commented on a post about this really great salad he had when he went to Paris!

And last but not least I went to Rebecca’s blog.
This blog had a really cool video about the environment and global warming! And it interested me because I think my class is going to have to make a post about it sometime soon too!(:

I love to use little smiley faces in my posts!! So I thought I would show you some of them just in case you have never seen them before!!

There are so many applications you can put on iPads… Here are my top 10 apps that I would put on a school iPad!

10.) SkyView- Explore the Universe- This app lets you look at the stars and planets, and gives you a fun way to learn about the solar system

9.) Calculator Pro- This is just like a calculator that you would use in math class. It has all of the extra buttons you need to do the harder ones too.

8.) Flashcards+- This app lets you make your own flashcards

7.) Oregon Trail- On this app you are making your way across the oregon trail and you have a lot of decision making and problem solving. It’s a really fun game.

6.) Brain Trainer by Lumosity.com- This is a fun way to make yourself smarter by playing lots of mini games. You can pick if you want to make your math, reading, memory, ect. skills better.

5.) Edmodo- This is a great app that lets you get on Edmodo quickly to get all of your assignments.

4.) Garage Band- Just like the garage band on mac computers. Lets you make your own songs.

3.) Cut the Rope- One of my favorite games! In this game you have to figure out how to get the candy into this cute little monsters mouth. It is a game the requires a lot of thinking.

2.) Facebook- This is a easy way to get on facebook, and update your status, upload pictures, ect.

1.) The game of Life- This game is exactly like the game of life! You can play by yourself against the computer or with other people.

I know you are probably thinking not another huge Justin Bieber fan, but really I’m not a huge fan of him. I saw a video of pray by Justin Bieber today and I found it really inspiring! It talks about how there is not only good in the world, and some people don’t have everything they need. Some people are out on the streets everyday begging for food, money, or clothes to stay warm. They don’t even have a home to keep them warm. They also showed all the kids that are in the hospital with horrible diseases right now. The kids all looked so happy to see someone like Justin Bieber caring enough about them to come see them. In the video they show all of the people serving our country right now, and how they have to be away from their families for so long. I really appreciate all of the people who are serving our country because I know I wouldn’t be able to stand not having my parents at home. This video really made me think about how lucky I am to have a house, food, clothes, be healthy, and have both of my parents at home. I want to try to help these people and make the school aware of what is happening to some people who aren’t as fortunate to have everything they have. Do you have any good ideas to get the word out to more people?? I hope you watch the video and it inspires you to do something for them.

Today I learned alot about what people can find out about you!! Just try typing in your name and the town where you like and a whole bunch of stuff will come up! Here is some of what I found out searching today.

Gmail, Facebook, Edmodo, Mixpod, Voki, Widgets, Edublogs, MSN

2. How much information did you give them when you joined?
I just give the websites enough info so that they will let me be a member. I give nothing more than what is needed!

3. Have you filled in more than the *asterisk questions?
Nope! (:

4. What did you find?
I found quite a bit more than I thought I would. There was nothing on google about my facebook account, because I changed the setting for that. But there is stuff about a summer camp I went to, stats from track and basketball, and being a member of my church.

5. Are you on the web for sports teams, named in newspapers and where else?
Yeah, as I said in the question before there is stuff for basketball and Track. Nothing really from the newspaper came up and the only other place was my church, and a summer camp.
6. How many cookies or footprints are you leaving behind?
I don’t know an exact number, but I could guess there are thousands out there!

Today I played the game Spent in class. The game is kinda about what it would be like if you were poor and didn’t have enough money. You really start to think about what families that don’t have enough money go through. It takes you through the coarse of a month- you get a job and it has little things that happen to you everyday. I actually passed to the end of the month and I had $81 left. To make it to the end with money left I had to give up a lot of stuff that I would have really liked to do (like going to a best friend’s wedding and going to my grandpa funeral). I applied for the temp job but I didn’t pass the typing test so I ended up being a warehouse worker. This game really makes you think of those in need, and I think to help them I could donate money to them. I could also help by bring food when we have canned food drives. After you play this game it really makes you think about helping people in need. What would you do to help them? Here is the link to play the game!

OK, 3 men on a business trip stop at a hotel for the night. They all decide to save money and share a room. The clerk charges them $30 ($10 each) for the room and they go and begin unpacking. The clerk then remembers there is a discount of $5 for rooms that day, so he gives the bellboy $5 and tells him to give it to the men. The bellboy knows he can’t divide $5 evenly in thirds, so he pockets $2 and gives the men $1 each. That means each man paid $9. $9×3 is $27 and the bellboy has $2, making $29. Where is the other dollar?
